For Catholics, the new Liturgical Year commences with the First Sunday of Advent, opening the Advent season. In this new Liturgical Year, the Church not only wishes to indicate the beginning of a period, but the beginning of a renewed commitment to the faith by all those who follow Christ, the Lord.
Mark, the briefest of all of the Gospels begins with the proclamation, “the beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God”. It is through this lens that we can view all of the Gospel of Mark. We know that it is “good news”, saving news. We know that it centers around the “Son of God”, the Christ, the anointed one, the savior. John is the central figure of this weekend’s gospel – and John is pointing toward one who is more powerful than (him). One who will baptize with the fire of the Holy Spirit – bringing to fulfillment the prophecies of the “5th Evangelist” ( called by some ) the prophet Isaiah. As we travel through this beautiful season of Advent the readings from the book of the prophet Isaiah are astounding. Page after page the prophet points out to the coming of the Christ. Enjoy the Word of God given through the prophet Isaiah. This week the Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12th. On December 13th St Lucy is celebrated and St John of the Cross on December 14th – Have a wonderful week in the Lord.

“početak radosne vijesti Isusa Krista, Sina Božjega”. to je
kroz ovu leću možemo vidjeti cijelo Evanđelje po Marku. Znamo
vatra Duha Svetoga – dovođenje do ispunjenja proročanstava
“5. evanđelist” (koji neki nazivaju) prorok Izaija.
Dok putujemo kroz ovo lijepo doba došašća, čitanja iz
knjiga proroka Izaije su zapanjujuća. Stranica za stranicom
prorok ukazuje na dolazak Krista. Uživajte u Riječi Božjoj
dano preko proroka Izaije.
Ovaj tjedan Crkva slavi svetkovinu Gospe Guadalupske
12. prosinca. 13. prosinca slavi se sveta Lucija i sveti Ivan
Križa 14. prosinca
– Imajte prekrasan tjedan u Gospodinu.
